After lightning had struck the power cables on this National Grid tower, it was urgent that a crane could get access to it to repair the damage. Our rapid response was essential and we have laid the entire temporary access required by National Grid in less than 1 day.
The access consisted of several roadways measuring hundreds of linear meters along with a huge pad area for the crane to position itself and make the required repair works to the frayed cables.
The first image below shows the initial temporary roadway we have installed from the entrance gate and right across a farmers ploughed field.
The second image shows the pad area that the crane will sit on to enable the cables to be repaired.
